The "keys" to my fugue paintings
Explanation of how I used fugue form.
In Tower Fugue I: Read Top to Bottom, and Fugue Three Heads Expo Development Coda, I used various sets of color combinations to represent elements of the fugue, including Subject, Counter-Subject, Answer, and more. These sets of colors appear in the order in which they might appear in an actual musical fugue, and are reasonably consistent throughout (no two fugues are exactly the same--it is a method, not a formula).
New color sets are introduced in the development sections, and there is even a color set to represent the Pedal Tone in the Coda sections.
Though a musicologist could probably decode these picture fugues as to their formal components, these images are meant as visual art first and foremost.
