...Ford's musical sensibilities have helped to shape his sensitivity to color, form and for 'emotions for which there are no words'...

It was an interest in photography 10 years ago that led to Ford Weisbergs experimentation with, and eventual discovery of, photo revision software;

He uses it as a method by which to create color-infused, otherworldly digital art.

Although Ford still has a passion for photography, he tells theLoop, I found that [the software] afforded more artistic control and that photography had built-in limitations.

Ford cites his influences as 20th century painters such as Cezanne, Picasso, and Kandinsky, who was one of the creators of abstractionism in modern painting. Like the Surrealists, Fords artistic process begins when he starts drawing and the picture emerges in front of me. Utilizing the software, he paints on a tablet with a pressure sensitive stylus. At some point, it clicks, and he starts to understand the general theme of the painting. These works are then printed on canvas and stretched, or printed on paper, matted and framed.

Fords musical sensibilities have helped to shape his sensitivity to color, form, and for emotions for which there are no words, an indicator of a work of art that knows no boundaries.

Fords works will be on display at the Mamaroneck Artists Guild Gallery at 126 Larchmont Avenue in Larchmont, NY through March 20th. There will be a reception this Saturday, March 6th from 2:00-4:00 PM. Gallery Hours are: Tues-Sat Noon-5.
